Growing Inclusivity

We aim to build an accessible playground where all ages and abilities can play and grow together.

About

In 2020 Hannah and Brandon Setzer had the idea to build a coffee shop in their town of Powhatan, Virginia. A local citizen suggested having an accessible playground as part of the coffee shop, which seemed like an excellent idea. Then they were struck with the idea for a laundromat since Powhatan does not have one. Then a friend wanted to open up a thrift store. Clearly this idea was snowballing out of control quickly. After much deliberation and learning how much went into building a laundromat their ideas were significantly reduced. The accessible playground idea stuck and thus, Growing Inclusivity was born!

Hannah was born with a rare medical condition and grew up rarely seeing any other disabled kids, much less adults. She has been on a mission to advocate for disabled people and make the world a more inclusive place.

In late 2022 Growing Inclusivity partnered with Independence Golf Course in Powhatan, Virginia to bring their accessible playground to life! Growing Incluvisity is working hard with the Timmons Group and Play Space Creative to bring their vision to life!
